Floor Mop

One floor mop isn't identical to all the other mops out there on the market today. There are a few different styles you can purchase. Mops also come in a variety of different materials. Some are cotton, others are microfiber. When you take into consideration the differt styles and materials you can come up with over 10 unique mops that all go about cleaning a little bit different.

Material
We will cover the materials that a mop head can be made of first. The four main materials that make up mops are cotton, microfiber, rayon, and a blend of the previous three materials. Cotton is the cheapest in price and quality. This material has the least absorbent power and the shortest use time. A mop made of microfiber can fit many cleaning needs. It can absorb more liquid than cotton and works very well on softer surfaces like wood. A mop made of rayon is best for very wet conditions.

Style
Now that we've talked about the most used materials in a mop, it's time to learn about the styles. The main styles are mops with cut ends, mops with looped ends, and the microfiber style of mops (like the smart mop). Cut ends are usually made for disposable mops. You can't wash them in a washing machine and they cover less area than looped mops. The mops with looped ends allow it to cover more space each swipe and absorb more liquid. Microfiber mops are unique in that they can be used on dry and wet surfaces. They generally last a long time and can absorb a lot of liquid.

Wet Mop, 4 Ply, 15/16"x60" Wood Handle, 24 oz,Natural Cotton - I love this mop. It dosn't take me all day to get a clean floor with this mop. That is because it is a professional mop. You can even eat off of the floor after cleaning with this mop. I stepped out of my house slippers and walked over the floor in my bare feet and the floor felt great. I will never buy another mop from my hardware or grocery store again unless it is a professional one. The only draw back is that it has a very long handle but that is minor, to me, because it does a wonderful job otherwise.

Good Mop for Small Bathroom
Wet Mop- By Fuller Brush - This mop is great for a small bathroom. I was able to get behind the toilet and pedestal sink with no problem. The head rinses out really well. By being able to break down the handle into two pieces it stores easily on a rack with the brooms and dusters. Very pleased with this product and I highly recommend it.
